Gillian Greer Smith
Welcome to my blog! Here's a little update on my birth. I arrived a little early (38 weeks 4 days) as mommy had Preeclampsia and had to be induced. After mom labored for 12 hours (pushing for 3), I made my grand entrance. I arrived on Thursday September 3, 2009 at 6:21pm weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. and 19 3/4" long. I came out a very happy baby. Daddy was a great coach for mom - getting her ice chips, rubbing her back, counting for pushes, and making sure the iPod was playing soothing music during the difficult delivery. Mommy was a trooper too and sure was glad when I finally arrived. I was welcomed to this world surrounded by love - many family and friends were patiently waiting at the hospital to meet me. Mommy and Daddy couldn't figure out a name for me until Saturday, but came up with Gillian (pronounced with a J sound) Greer Smith. It fits me well because it's beautiful and unique!
This is classic from Ryan Saul..."basically the Smith's set a world record for having the most people ever at a birthing. The nurses kept telling everyone to clear out of the hall way because of the noise and just plain being in the way! Ashley had the great idea to all hide in the kitchen across the hall." (the fans pictured here in the hospital kitchen: Faith, Ashley, Sarah, Rachel, Heather, Elizabeth, Quinn, and Aubry)
